FOOD IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.
We are a statewide coalition of organizations united to protect and strengthen the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in Illinois. The unprecedented attacks to SNAP by the federal government will lead to catastrophic levels of hunger in our communities. Our collective action can help mitigate harm and build a brighter future where all Illinois neighbors have the food they need to thrive.
-
Our cross-sector coalition will advance advocacy at the federal, state and local levels.
Federally, we will work to reverse harmful changes to SNAP and improve program in the long-term.
In Illinois, we will advocate to protect the program, mitigate harm for those losing benefits, and ensure program changes center compassion and access.
Locally, we will conduct outreach to inform communities about SNAP changes, and galvanize the voices, stories and advocacy of people and communities harmed by SNAP cuts.
-
The coalition is comprised of mission-aligned organizations engaging in advocacy and/or outreach in communities throughout the State of Illinois.
