APPLY FOR SNAP
SNAP is a government program that allows families and individuals the choice to purchase the food they need for healthy lives. In Illinois, SNAP benefits are provided on a Link card that looks and works like a debit card.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
To be eligible for SNAP, you must meet both the gross income requirement and net income requirement.
There is no age requirement to qualify for SNAP, but adults over age 60 have expanded eligibility rules.
SNAP is the only nutrition program with a citizenship requirement. Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for SNAP. Immigrants can enroll in SNAP if they meet income and work requirements and have a qualifying immigration status.
HOW TO APPLY
SNAP benefits help you and your family afford the healthy food you need to thrive. By providing money for groceries, SNAP frees up household income for other necessities like medicine or utilities. Review your eligibility and access the benefits you deserve.
